The Bloy team is pleased to announce the addition of Husab uranium mine to the growing Blockbuster client base. The Blockbuster software was implemented on site in July 2014 and the Bloy team will be working hand-in-hand with the geologists on site to implement best practise grade control procedures in the coming years as the project becomes operational.
Name: Husab mine
Company: Swakop Uranium
Description: The Husab mine is located near the town of Swakopmund in the Erongo region of Namibia and is currently the third largest known uranium deposit in the world.
Reserves: The Husab mine is estimated to contain approximately 280 million tonnes of uranium ore and the project is expected to produce 7,000t of uranium each year when fully operational.
Mining Method: Husab will be developed as an open-pit mining operation that uses a conventional truck and shovel method. This will allow the loading and hauling equipment to operate on a large scale for the proposed mining. Extracted ore will be fed through the conventional acid leach processing plant to produce high grade uranium.
