The Bloy team is pleased to announce the addition of Mogalakwena platinum mine to the growing Blockbuster client base. The Blockbuster software was implemented on site in March 2012 and currently assists the mine in coordinating the grade control efforts of a team of 12 geologists.

Description: Mogalakwena mine is a large open pit mine located near the town of Mokopane in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Mogalakwena represents one of the largest platinum reserves in South Africa and currently consists of four open pits, namely Sandsloot, Zwartfontein, Mogalakwena Central and Mogalakwena North.
Reserves: Mogalakwena’s life-of-mine (LoM) extends well beyond 2060 and is currently estimated as having reserves of 264.9 million oz of platinum. The mine produces approximately 310,000 oz of platinum annually.
Mining Method: The mining method is open-pit truck and shovel, and the current pit depths vary from approximately 90 m at Mogalakwena North to about 240 m at Sandsloot. The ore is milled at the new fully operational North Concentrator and at the older South Concentrator.
